Never a dull moment huh? I am running a little behind on my makeup today as every time I sat down to do it, something came up. None of it was major. Just lots of little things. I think the end of the year crush has begun. There is always a point where everyone realizes the end of the year is coming up fast and that they have a longer to do list than they have days, especially if they plan to take off for Christmas.
It seems today that realization struck many. Nothing too bad, like I said, but just a constant stream of little things. Which aren’t actually ending. I suspect this will be the theme of the week. So Makeup was quick and easy today. And I used it as an opportunity to try the Axiology foundation without a primer underneath. So without further ado (and before the phone rings again)…let’s get into the makeup.
The products:
Foundation: Axiology’s Fungdation
Blush: Axiology’s Color Cream in True
Eyeshadow: MAC Single shadow in Couture Copper
Eyeliner: 3 in A 575 Color Eyeliner Pen
Mascara: Grande Cosmetics Grande Drama
Lips: Maybeline Super Stay Ink Crayon in Live on the Edge 05
I have to say I actually enjoyed having just a few makeup products today. Thus far the Axiology foundation has not settled into fine lines but that is something I will monitor throughout the day. It just went on quick and easy. I am really liking this formula the more I use it. I think it also helps that I have been into lighter foundations lately. So this sort of hits the sweet spot for me coverage wise.
I also went for Axiology for the blush. I figured if I was going to go for minimal products, why not? Plus I really love the Color Cream formula. It is easy to blend on the cheeks. Like the foundation it does need a bit of a warm up, but blend it out as soon as you put it on your cheeks. Go light as it is pigmented and a little goes a long way, but it is buildable. It is a multi use stick so you can use it as lipstick as well. I didn’t today, and in general I don’t, but I have had times where I have done so and it works well but is slightly drying on the lips. A little lip balm over it works well though. And when I do use it on the lips I tend to use a brush to apply it. Partially because I don’t like putting something I apply to my cheeks on my mouth, but also because I find it easier to control the application and not get messy with a brush.
For Eyes I took out my MAC single shadow. I know of course it is copper, you know I can’t resist the copper. Copper and bronze shadows are sort of my weakness. This one I usually put over a darker brown shadow because it is too bright on it’s own, but it worked for me today. And it paired really well with the 3 in A liner. I really like how smoothly these pen liners apply. It is a very fine tip and easy to control. The pigment is good and it doesn’t seep into fine lines. My lines always look a little cheated when I have my eyes closed because I have hooded lids, but it looks like it is supposed to with my eyes open.
I do sort of wish I had a brown mascara to go with this look today, but alas I don’t have one. So I went with my Grande Drama mascara. It’s a great everyday mascara and worked really well for me today.
And then I wrapped it up with The Maybelline Ink Crayon. I love these and every time I use it I remind myself to pick up more shades. It is a great light weight formula that lasts all day without drying the lips. I forgot to sharpen mine so the line around the edges isn’t all that crisp, but if you remember to sharpen with the built in sharpener then you don’t need an additional lip liner. You can line and fill with the same product. To be honest, this Ink Crayon tends to stay out all fall and winter as it is a great shade for this time of year and I enjoy wearing it. So you will probably be seeing it a lot this winter. I just need to remember to sharpen it.
And that my darlings is me today. I went for quick and easy but it ended up looking pretty good. I am very curious to see how the foundation performs though. Should be fun. Have a great Tuesday!
